ACCADEMIA MUSICALE CHIGIANA L'Accademia Musicale Chigiana fu fondata dal Conte Guido Chigi Saracini nel 1932 con il fine di organizzare Corsi di Perfezionamento nei principali strumenti musicali. Il fondatore, oltre a prodigare i suoi beni materiali e a mettere a disposizione il suo magnifico palazzo appositamente restaurato e riadattato, riuscì a chiamare a Siena molti musicisti di fama mondiale per ricoprire la carica di Docenti dei vari Corsi. Basterà ricordare fra gli altri Pablo Casals, Antonio Guarnieri, Alfredo Casella (che affiancò il Conte Chigi Saracini proprio nel momento della creazione dell'Accademia Chigiana), Arrigo Serato, Sergiu Celibidache, George Enescu, Andrés Segovia, Alfred Cortot, Jacques Thibaud, Nathan Milstein, Yehudi Menuhin, Hermann Scherchen, Guido Agosti, Gino Bechi, Gina Cigna, André Navarra, Riccardo Brengola, Giorgio Favaretto, Fernando Germani, a cui seguirono dopo la sua morte Franco Ferrara, Goffredo Petrassi, e altri ancora che qui sarebbe troppo lungo citare. .
